And yes in the 8 yrs I have been with my company I have got 3 promotions and am now a Manager. My companys immigration lawyer said thats ok. He just joked that when you get your green card just make sure you get tripple demotion to new role.
So when new kids on the block (<5 yrs in US) talk about GC process being screwed up, I say pick a number and wait in line. I myself will not support for skill Bill in current form. Too much H1b numbers will not only create a problem for US citizens it will also for current H1bs as well future H1bs. That 20% automatic adjustment and exemption for Cap for MS persons will increase supply and it will be tough to find a job if too many people are in the market. There are abundant jobs in India. Let people wait in India for 1 or 2 years to come here. Sustained immigration without increasing unemployment is better for US as well as potential immigrants. Otherwise Hate will increase. It may be easy to talk Capitalism and fittest will survive. When those people talking will be unemployed for more than 6 months with kids in the family will realise the truth. In the Forum most of the people are young and they did not face any issue other than Green card.
But speed with which Corporations and Lawyers are working the Skill bill be passed in current form soon. We will wait and see after 3 years after increasing H1B. My prediction is Limited increase in H1 with Moderate increase in GC numbers will solve the problem for all the gc waiting people without big reaction from anti immigrants and that will boost sustained immigration.

My question is - has anobdy got their cards without getting the CPO e-mail - I have recd the approval notice on 11th in the mail - but I have yet to get the cards also I did not get the CPO e-mail:confused:

Hello Guys,
I filed on july 7th and still waiting.
My case little different, my 485 pending at Nebraska and I mailed EAD renewal at Texas (because I live in PA, per instructions in form).
Do you think my EAD will get stuck because of this? I hope I did right thing.
Is any one similar situation

I am very sorry and shocked to hear this news. I pray to GOD so don't lose hope.. everything will be OK .... I think taking second/third opinion is going to help and as far as your wife Immigiration case .. I think some members mentioned about talking to Attorney .. You can also drop a email to Sheila Mutrhy and Rajive Khanna. I am sure they will come out and help...

My 485 was filed with NSC on June 1st. It reached NSC on June 4th. We haven't received any receipts so far. I think NSC is still working on June 1st cases. Maybe I need to wait for one more week atleast

New employment: Have an offer to start a new job around middle of next year by which 180 days will be complete. New job is very different than current one. Here is my plan:
1. Don't file AC21, hope that I won't receive RFE since my PD wont be current for a long time.
2. Change address, but give friend's address in the same city as mentioned on application
3. Convince current employer to respond to RFE (in case any) positively
4. May be have an arrangement with current employer to work part time when I start new job. So that way, I'll remain on previous employer's payroll and he can respond to RFE...

AFAIK when you file the A number is allocated. That is the "visa number", and it comes from the country/EB quotas.
once that is exhausted for a country/EB, you have to wait.
it is not the CIS being mean. That is the way the Congress wrote the law. CIS is just enforcing it.
'A' number is not the visa number, it's the alien registration number assigned by USCIS. Visa number is allocated only when the AOS application has been approved.

I have to get the EMP LETTER latest by Friday June 29th from employer.
For that i have to sign the agreement by June 28th Noon time.
Today is June 26th and they are still working on agreement with their lawyers and would probably give me the final agreement tomorrow 27th noon time.
Between 27th Noon and 28th Noon how can i consult a lawyer ??
I meant "whole sentence from the employment agreement". All depends on the wordings. If your agreement is linked to I-485 approval date then there is a way out. Every contract must have well defined terms. Since date for I-485 approval is not known, such contracts are difficult to stand in court of law. However, if it says "the employee must work for 2 years or 6-months after I-485 approval date (whichever is earlier) otherwise he/she will pay all GC related expenses" then the contract is more likely to be enforceable.
All depends on the wordings of the contract.
Please consult a good lawyer BEFORE signing any contract.

I tried doing that. Convinced the employer to file a new labor for a new position, advertized again, filed a new labor under PERM, applied for a new I-140 and waited for a year for approval ... now the I-140 has been denied for A2P and is under appeal; I must confess that I have lost hope that it'll get re-opened and approved.
So all my efforts for getting a EB2 140 have failed.....what do you recommend, I start this entire process again. Even if I'm willing to bear the cost, the employer will not file yet another labor.
EB3 wait is my only way out now......

In your case, the A2P RFE is related to the company's financials and not really directly related to the EB3-EB2 porting. I hope your appeal goes through. Good luck!
