Can we also try to involve some professional organisations like, TIE here and NASSCOM there. Indian government should also atleast give feelers to US govt for this unjust move, even if they cannot abolish per country quota, they can atleast make it depending on few parameters:

Pamposh - Point is not we getting money, idea is getting it back from USCIS. Whoever paid it, USCIS got it. Moreover, money is not the only issue. There are quite a few as we listed before.
Completely agreed. It is not about money, that is just a small portion of the whole issue and it does not matter who paid it. Infact even if the employer is paying for our application he/she is not paying it for free, they pay coz we work for them so logically it could be considered our money...that is what we need to emphasize on.
Its ideal, we dont waste our energy on these.
I don't think we are wasting energy/time by identifying gaps and answering questions to folks who want to know more about what exactly are we talking about here. Moving on and gaining more and more support etc., all these things need to be done in parallel.

Just wanted to let u know that when I called NSC IO today, she was kind enough to give my 485 Recpt # and asked me to wait a couple of weeks to get them in mail. She told me they(both my wife and mine) were just entered into the system.
Also I asked her abt my wife's pkg, she said it also got cashed, but my wife has to call to get her Recpt#.

PS: I did NOT open any SR or contact seneator or ask lawyer to get in touch with USCIS. Just waited patiently. Did my Finger Printing in October 2007. No FP after that did paper filing for EAD & AP so no FP for those as well. My advise is to hang in there. Not to open too many SR's but thats entirely upto your discretion. Some people swear it helped them for my case I did not use that option.
Hope this date line helps those who are waiting for their cards. Good luck to every one on forum. I will still be supporting IV and contributing to Wiki as always.

Why did you file EAD? Waste of money. You will be getting your GC anytime. EB2 ROW is curent.
Yes it is current. But I don't know when they'll be approving it. Besides now we pay $1010 for I-485/131/765. There's no breakdown.

Is there any way we can work for our US employer from India on Indian salary? I am thinking a consulting company with presence in US and India (Manpower??) can set this up for us. So we will just be living in India and working remotely for the employer as a consultant. We will be paying indian taxes as the consulting company will be indian. Any thoughts?

guys can i say something instead of showing our true colors we all should join force and for one common reason that is getting our green cards done.I have been here for last 13 years and am still awaiting my green card as my eb2 application got denied as my employer showed loss in the year opf filling my petition and then i became lazy and didnt file in eb3 category but now finally i amd awaiting the pd so lets all get together and get greened.

All the best asdcrajnet.. Both countries are equally good, we have lived in both.. so we know how to adjust..
Few points that you may need to find out before you go..
1) Apply for POI for your kid, you may have already done it. There is a restriction that you need to visit nearby police station every 180 days if your son is in India (because he is a US citizen), try to find out more about that and see what you can do to avoid it (may be get a India visa as opposed to a POI)
If you go to a police station, 100% guarantee they will ask for a bribe or make things difficult for us.
2) The school fees for non-Indian citizens is very high, because your son falls under NRI category, try to find out about it, and if possible share with us too.
Everything is good back home but there are few issues which I see are a problem,
1) Nothing moves ahead without bribery, if we need our stuff to move up the queue, say if it is land registration or getting approval for something - it will not move with bribery and any govt office related work we need to wait a lot and service is bad, unlike here in US there is no bribing and things are so streamlined and good. We can talk about ethics and moral values and not give bribe but then our need will never get fulfilled for years if we decide to go as per queue.
2) If you are in IT, the work hours are horrible, most of IT companies are outside city limits, we will end up going early in the morning and return late night (because hey we need to talk to onsite guys). If an employee leaves at 5:30 or 6 PM it means there he is not working - not sure when this culture would change there. Again most of them work on saturdays, so only sunday is a holiday, here in US i can leave work at 5 PM or 5:30 and come home and spend time with family.
3) Commute is very tough back home - too much traffic than what the roads can handle, there is traffic in US too but it is decent traffic, everyone follows rules and lane sense is there. Back home it is really horrible.
For your PD you have waited for a long time, I would suggest you wait for 1-2 more years and give it a try. We can always go back to India no one is going to stop us, but the return is not very easy. Nowadays h1b approvals and stamping has become a nightmare.
All the best in whatever decision you make. Everything is for good :)

My 15 yr old was the first to receive the notice. She was not in US at that time. I called the USCIS and informed them about this. They said they will postpone the appointment. But the postponement was only for 2 weeks. With the next notice I went to the local office. The security officer gave me a print out stating that I visited there for this reason. AND ACCORDING TO THAT NOTICE, FINGER PRINTING CAN BE DONE WITHIN 64 DAYS FROM THE ORIGINAL NOTICE. My child came back to US in 60 days and I took her to the local office walk in date. He got finger printed.
The very next week my 9 yr old got the notice. I took another appointment and next day I got a second finer printing notice for my elder one again. I took both of them to the local office and explained the situation. For my second child they did the finger printing and for my elder, they made a stamp on to the latest notice which was not at all clear.
Me and wife was never requested for a second finger printing. We all just got GREENED on August 6th.

I remember my attorney saying that the applications were filed at NSC but somehow my receipts came from VSC. And this morning I receive an update that my I-485 has been transferred to TSC! Here is the detail:
"On September 20, 2007, we transferred this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER
