My attorney said the checks should be payable to USCIS not DHS. The PD is always ur LC filed date. Receipt date is when the application is received and notice date is when they assing a LIN/wac number and take ur money.
If you download the 485 form from the following url and go to page six, it states
"The check or money order should be made payable to theDepartment of Homeland Security"
I believe previously it used to be USCIS. Now what I dont know is if they will accept checks made for USCIS or not.

Over the past 4 years, I have contributed to IV several times. I was also a monthly subscriber of $20 for over a year until my credit card expired and the payments stopped.
What pains me is that inspite of several requests, i have not been granted access to donor forms. Perhaps there is a waiting list for donor access or my priority date is not current for the same.:confused:
I will try my best to make it to DC events, but please accept my small contribution in case i am unable to make the trip.

My bank in Bank of America. I print them and try to do any trick to read the number. No way. I am going to call customer service and ask her to read the number if she can. I applied for my wife and one child.

I have sent to my state senators + 10 senators IV identified. I have also sent an email to the ND senator after he voiced his support for our cause on the senate floor today. I now plan to write to all 2008 presidential candidates. Most importantly I am going to write to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, as he has always been a champion of business and immigrant communities.

what the heck is happening to this stupid organization. did some one fart in the brains of the USCIS and DHS leadership. All I am saying is dont you idiots understand that the constant stress and pressure being faced by us with these dates going back and forth. keep them constant at a particular date, finish processing them and then move them one day at a time. then we will know when we will get the green cards. why move foraward give some one from 2006 green card and then push it to 2000 (who the f**k does not know that there is no one there in 2000).

My application was received on July 2nd 9:01 AM, if it matters it was signed by R Mickels. Also, there is no LUD change on my I140 application, so I guess LUD changes on I-140 mean nothing.
I have not seen the notices yet so I dont know what the notice dates are.

I agree, another argument in support is that if the situation of skilled legal immigrants does not improve many of them may consider other options like Canada, Australia, UK, NZ or even going back home. The employers most likely will outsource the jobs to other countries and once that happens that position is permanently gone from US. Hoewver, if an immigrant is working here the position is still here in US and can be taken by a citizen or a resident here if the immigrant workers leaves the job position.

The standard line amounts to this:
We are highly skilled we are legal and we are stuck and dont deserve this.
This is not good PR. Nobody cares about this.. it will get us nowhere..
We need to have a standard message apart from all other humint crap..
1) legals cannot undercut US jobseekers because of strict labor laws. Employers are paying a premium in wages as well as legal fees to retain their legal alien workforce. IT would be foolhardy of them to go through the hassle if local talent was easily available.
2) legals are in most cases paying taxes for which they may never realize the benifits like social security.
We need to let it be known in a firm polite manner that
1) we are giving more than we are getting and are not free loaders
2) we are not harming or displacing anyone.
I dont think this can be perceived as tryng to distance ourselves from undocumented workers. There are rare moments when the media does focus on legal immigrants as a group lets make the most of it.

H1B is a non immigrant visa, and they dont have the full constitutional rights, for eq they dont have the right to vote.

No onde denies that we cannot vote. But we have the basic rights, like being treated "equally and fairly". For example, if some employer violates labor law and did not pay you for your work, I am sure you can sue, even though you are not a citizen. There are some basic rights that everyone has, esp. if you hold good fainth and are damaged. Statement that you do not have any rights as you are not a citizen is just wrong. I am wondering how this will impact people's (esp. people from other countries) perception about this. :confused:
